FAQs

  • All sessions are held virtually, allowing you to meet from the comfort of your own home. I don’t offer in-person appointments, and at this time I am only working with clients who are physically located in New York.

  • Individual sessions run 45–60 minutes unless noted otherwise. We’ll meet weekly at a consistent day and time, with the option to adjust the frequency later on if that makes clinical sense.

  • My standard rate for individual therapy is $130 per session.

  • Yes, I keep a small number of reduced-fee spots for adults who are navigating financial strain and need access to therapy at a lower rate. These appointments range from $75–$100 and are based on self-reported income or temporary hardship. Because I want the system to stay fair and sustainable, I cap these at five spots at a time. If they’re full, I offer a waitlist and let you know as soon as something opens.

If you'd like to explore sliding-scale options, you can submit an inquiry via the contact form or contact me at therapy@lemhc.com and I’ll walk you through the simple process.

  • Yes, I accept the following insurance plans:

    • Aetna

    • Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield New York (formerly Empire)

    • Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey

    • Quest Behavioral Health

The following plans are pending and not active yet:

    • Oscar

    • Oxford

    • United Healthcare

  • If your insurance isn’t listed, don’t rule anything out — many plans offer out-of-network benefits for mental health that people aren’t aware of.

Before starting, it’s helpful to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask:

    1. Does my plan include out-of-network coverage for mental health?

    2. What is my annual deductible for mental health services?

    3. What is my coinsurance rate?

    4. Is there a yearly limit on the number of sessions covered?

    5. How do I submit my Super Bills?

I’ll send Super Bills to you automatically by email each month.

  • In the consultation call, we’ll briefly discuss your current challenges and what you’re hoping to achieve through therapy. I’ll answer any questions you have about my therapeutic approach, the therapy process, and how we might work together. This call is an opportunity to see if my style feels like a good fit for you and to clarify next steps—there’s no pressure to commit, just a space to gain clarity and feel supported.

  • In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and understanding what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to learn about your experiences, patterns, and current priorities. Together, we’ll begin identifying meaningful goals and practical next steps. By the end of the session, my aim is for you to feel a sense of relief, greater clarity, and the reassurance that you don’t have to face everything on your own.

  • As a courtesy, you may cancel or reschedule an appointment without charge if you provide at least 24 hours’ notice from the start of your scheduled appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a late cancellation fee.

If you cancel late but still wish to meet for an appointment within the same week, the late cancellation fee still applies. Missed appointments without any notice (no-shows) will be billed at the full session rate.

There are no exceptions. Please contact me as soon as possible if you cannot attend your scheduled session. Late cancel and no-show fees are the responsibility of the client, as insurance will not cover them.

Please note that your chart may be closed if there is no activity for 30 days or more.

  • Therapy is a way to access the strengths and tools you already have. Everyone’s process looks different. My role is to support you for as long as it’s helpful, and many people find value in working together over a longer stretch.

I also work with clients who take breaks and return when life shifts, stress increases, or they just feel the need for support again. I’m always open to hearing from former clients — whether you’re looking to restart therapy or simply want to share an update.
